Cross Mountain - On a small peak north of
town off FM965, settlers found the remnants of a wooden cross
believed to have been left there by Spanish missionaries. Residents
have kept crosses on the mountain overlooking Fredericksburg since
1849 beginning with John Christian Durst. Cross Mountain which
stands 1,951 feet above sea level and offers a panoramic view
of town. |
